British Fashion Council marks 25th year with raft of industry initiatives
10 Downing Street: 15th September 2008At a VIP reception hosted on our behalf by the Prime Minister's wife Sarah Brown, the British Fashion Council outlined plans for an exciting raft of initiatives and events to mark our first 25 years of supporting and promoting British designers and the British fashion industry.
To an audience of government ministers, business leaders, designers and journalists, our Chairman Harold Tillman announced the new BFC Fashion Fund, a major designer support initiative and one of the highlights of our year-long celebrations. Modelled on the exemplary CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, we anticipate that the BFC Fashion Fund will grow to become larger than its US cousin. The first designers to benefit will be announced in November 2009, at the height of the festivities.
